Lantern slide depicting a torch light parade in New York City of Sons of Liberty against the Stamp Act of 1870. The Stamp Act was an Act of British Parliament requiring all publications and legal and commercial documents in the American colonies to bear a tax stamp. The lantern slides were a gift of Mr. Frederic W. Thomas given to GSMT on May 25, 1928 and were used in a lecture on the American Revolution called 'One Flag. One Country, One People'.
