This hand-drawn and colored item was created when the Alumni Association of Mechanics Institute (AAMI) was founded in 1902. A lapel pin was created from this design. The Mechanics Institute, a major activity of the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen, is a tuition-free evening school for men and women in various fields of trade, that has been in operation since 1858.
