Note (displayLabel="Photographer Note")
Frank M. Ingalls, an active amateur photographer from at least 1895-1930, wrote that he always carried a small camera with him, even when it rained, to be sure he never missed an unexpected opportunity. Ingalls lived in New York City from 1901 to 1935. In a series of illustrated articles in the American Annual of Photography, 1906-1911, he advised his readers on the best equipment and sites for photographing New York City. He also published designs for a camera clubs rooms based on his own 23rd Street Y.M.C.A. club experience.
