This color postcard shows the Barge Canal construction with a rock covered debris field. In the midground there are two construction vehicles. The vehicle on the left appears to be a steam engine with a very tall stack emiting smoke while the vehicle on the right is unidentifable and both are set on tracks. In the background are buildings and hills. This card illustrates the tremendous amount of work required to build the Barge Canal.
