Description

The boat is being towed by animal teams on the towpath to the left of the canal. Homes, trees and fences line the canal beyond the left towpath. A building, road, utility poles and a grassy expanse line the right of the canal. The scene is a peaceful, rural one. Canal Scene, near Utica, N.Y. is printed in red ink in the upper right corner.
