Russell was the mother of Mrs. Mildred Schermerhorn Hunt who donated this photo to the White Plains Public Library in June 1975. The Lafayette School may refer to a school started by Miss Mary Adler in 1875. Originally located on Lexington Avenue, it moved to quarters in Lafayette Hall, a community center.
