Etching for the trade card depicts a woman on stage in front of a large audience of men and women. Edmund Sagot opened a Paris bookshop in 1881, dealing in rare and contemporary prints. He was the first art dealer to add illustrated posters to his inventory. To advertise the printmakers whose work he published, he would commission posters and mailers by his artists. Artist for the card was Eugène Delâtre (1864-1938).
