Commemorative ribbon for the Sound Money Club of New York dated 1896. Lawyers and real estate clubs paraded through New York City in 1896 prior to the first election of President William McKinley. McKinley was an advocate of sound money - stable money not liable to sudden appreciation or depreciation in value.
